Interaction Excellence™—Pivotal Skills for Implementing and Sustaining Organizational Improvement Initiatives

Welcome to Interaction Excellence™ a professional development program that provides the pivotal communication skills necessary for leaders, managers, and supervisors to implement and sustain organizational improvement initiatives.  While many improvement projects start with good intentions, most end without achieving the success they intended.  Underlying many of these failures is the lack of adequate communication skills to develop the human relationships that support task effectiveness. 

A keystone element of Interaction Excellence™ is the Johari Window (Luft, Ingham, 1955), one of the most useful tools ever created for describing the process of human interaction.  The brilliance of the Johari Window lies in its simplicity.  A four-paned window (see Figure 1) divides human interaction into four types, as represented in the four quadrants: open, hidden, blind, and unknown.

The Interaction Excellence program instills a structure for meaningful and sustainable communication between employees utilizing and adapting the framework of the Johari Window in an easy-to-understand and focused manner.   Increasing task effectiveness is critical for teams in achieving the desired goals of organizational improvement initiatives, and improving human interactions is the pivotal component of increasing task effectiveness.
